Welcome to
Nature Being Australia

tuning into nature

‘In nature, nothing exists alone’
Rachel Carson

For millennia, humans have directly used nature to provide healthcare and to support our wellbeing and lifestyles.

Shintoism, Buddhism, and Indigenous practices worldwide continue to see nature as an integral component to human health and wellbeing.  Humans are considered as much a part of the natural world as the trees and other life forms.

As we developed technology, we moved away from nature, and now our highly urban lifestyles have significantly reduced our contact with the natural world. This can have far reaching consequences for our health and wellbeing.

At Nature Being Australia, we believe we have a natural affinity with nature.  It is vital to our health, in the same way as regular exercise and a good diet.  When we allow ourselves the time to be in nature, nature has the power to rejuvenate our health and wellbeing.  When we take the opportunity to be in touch with nature we can more fully appreciate that we are a part of all that is around us.

Nature Being Australia recognises the powerful interdependent relationship that exists between us and the natural world.  We offer an experience that gently guides you back to nature through a Forest Therapy walk.  A Guided Forest Therapy walk is a proven health programme that has wide ranging health benefits for all age groups.

About

‘Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth, find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts’

Rachel Carson

Urban environments see us spending more time indoors, more time sitting, more time watching technology and screens.  City living can also be stressful, and stress is considered by the World Health Organization as the health epidemic of the 21st century.

A global pandemic is an additional stressful situation. When our movements, work and social life are restricted it can negatively impact our mental, physical and spiritual health.

These environmental factors can lead to the development of stress-related medical conditions such as lung and heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity, depression and anxiety disorders.

All these factors impact the quality of our life.

However, the scientific research shows when we spend time in nature, we receive immediate and positive benefits that support our immune system, as well as our overall health.

A Guided Forest Therapy walk can provide these natural benefits to our health, and wellbeing despite our change to an urban lifestyle and the rise of urbanisation.
